Does it matter if my shampoo bar is pH balanced?

Yes, it does! The hair has a pH between 4.5-6 (making it acidic). If a shampoo has not been pH adjusted i.e. it’s pH is 8 or higher (making it alkaline), it will cause the hair cuticle to swell become dry, frizzy and prone to split ends.
